The Bikini Bloodbath Series impact: Half of a Million?

Half of a Million?

I sent 40 screeners out of Bikini Bloodbath Christmas the other day. My friends will do the the same, sending out even more than I. They are mailed to specific websites that showed an interest in reviewing the film. I wonder sometimes if this is how anyone ever gets famous. In a sense I’m blowing wind into my sail trying to get up one more rung on that ladder of success. sometimes I wonder how many people have actually heard of the Bikini Bloodbath series. With over 100 professional reviews from horror websites coupled with the 100’s of thousands of illegal downloads of the films and all the advertising and foreign releases. Maybe I should try to give a sweepingly  inaccurate estimate of the total amount of people have have HEARD of the series.

1. So on my blog I have about 80 Reviews from Horror films websites. There are more out there but I’ll use a lower number. Let us first consider that some are from Huge website like Fearnet, Fangoria, Rue Morgue, Joblo and say it averages out to 2,000 views a review to compensate for the smaller sites. So that’s 160,000. So let’s just say not all of the 2,000 people read the review but they saw the title.

2.The illegal downloading was hard to track down but we tried to add up how many people had downloaded off the dozens of torrent sites. The first film was downloaded the most probably at lease a few hundred thousand times. There were pages and pages or torrent sites with individual count numbers in the 60 thousands. But let’s just round down and say that all three films were downloaded 300,000 times. I’m not saying they watched it but hey know the title. Some people just download EVERYTHING.

3.Sales Listing advertising. There no way to really calculate this. the series is listing in news papers, most major video catalogs, online retail stores like Best Buy Amazon ect. and physical magazines like Horror Hound, Shock Horror and is advertised on other websites trade magazines ect. It’s a guess here so I’m aim low and say that 20,000 people read the title Bikini Bloodbath or part 2 or part 3 in all the advertising.

4.Video on Demand, DVD sales, Theatrical screenings, netflix viewings about 20,000 for all three films. U.S and foreign releases of the films

So at low estimates we can say that the Bikini Bloodbath series has easily reached a half a million people. For a little feature film series that’s not too bad. This number may be wrong, it may be way low. Who knows.
